Photography Auctions this Spring

Each year the auction world takes a break from photography for the winter period, usually resuming activities in spring, and now that spring is upon us there is a host of photography auctions in the offing. From distinguished private collections to specialised photographers, here is a look at the upcoming photography auctions this spring:

The first photography special begins next week in New York with the first Photographs auction of the year and an auction of photographs from the collection of Richard Gere. Hosted by Christie’s, both auctions begin online on the same day, with the Photographs auction completing first on the 5th April and the second completing 7th April. April brings two more Photographs auctions, this time from Sotheby’s and Phillips, all taking place in New York. The first London auction of the year takes place in May with an auction of David Bailey photographs, followed by another Photographs auction from Phillips.
